I hate starting 2014 out like this, but it just has to be said, "This healthcare mess cannot continue!" There. That feels better. Except one little thing. It probably will continue. And get increasingly messy.
So while most of the nation equates "healthcare" to "obamacare" these days, I couldn't help but point out the fact that the absurd increases in healthcare costs have been skyrocketing for a lot longer than most people realize. This chart from an October Huffington Post article shows that this has been going on for decades and there is nothing to suggest that health care spending line is going to do anything but keep going up and we all know that if the GDP and wage lines were going up at anywhere near the same slope, it would be HUGE news.
What does this all mean? Well to those of us here at Epic River who work on the MyLoans™ team, it means we need to be ready for another big year of installs. When I think about healthcare in 2014 I find myself remembering the old adage "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." So looking forward to healthcare costs in the next year, I'll say, "Happy New Year!"
